Coming Full Circle
What began as an impulsive Amazon Prime Day drone purchase sparked a creative revival, reminding me of my earlier days as a newspaper photographer and writer. Back then, I captured everything from pageants to football games, freezing moments of joy, triumph, and excitement in time. That passion for storytelling through the lens never truly left me.
For nearly two decades, I followed another passion—becoming a professional chef. The kitchen, while a place for creative expression, often demanded more than it gave. Long hours, understaffed shifts, and the constant pressure to deliver at the cost of personal time eventually led me to a crossroads. Success in the kitchen came with a price I wasn’t willing to pay anymore, especially after the birth of my daughter in 2021.
Now, as a father and a California transplant living in Rochester, NY, I’m navigating a new chapter: combining my joy for creating and preserving memories with the freedom to pursue creativity on my own terms. I’m focused on capturing life’s most joyful moments, whether it’s a wedding, family gathering, or a simple moment of happiness, all while striving for the work-life balance I’ve long sought.
This new found passion allows me to connect with people and preserve their most treasured memories, without sacrificing my own. It’s a creative outlet that brings me closer to my family, gives me the independence I crave, and allows me to tell stories that matter—on my terms.
